Dear Friends.

It is mind boggling to try to wrap our thoughts around the idea of what actually transpired when Jesus was born, isn’t it?

Think about it–the Almighty God, who fills the heavens and the earth, squeezed into the womb of a Jewish teenager and waited it out,  growing little by little, one day at a time, just so He could show us how much He really cares for us!

Jesus could have come to us as a Superhero, dressed and ready to go. But He chose to come into this world completely vulnerable and utterly dependent. Though he made the worlds, he humbled himself enough to submit to the confines of a mother’s womb.

Paul sums it up well:

He had equal status with God but didn’t think so much of himself that he had to cling to the advantages of that status no matter what. Not at all. When the time came, he set aside the privileges of deity and took on the status of a slave, became human! Having become human, he stayed human. It was an incredibly humbling process. He didn’t claim special privileges. Instead, he lived a selfless, obedient life and then died a selfless, obedient death and the worst kind of death at that a crucifixion. (Philiippians 2:5-8)

He did it for us!  What an awesome God we serve!

Seeking Him in the New Year

2020 is just around the corner. As a family, we want this to be the year of “2020 Vision”– that we see JESUS clearer than ever before. How about you?

There are so many things He wants to do in and through us all. We would ask you to please pray for our family, and we invite you to send us your prayer requests so we can lift them up before the throne of God. Until next year, may the Lord keep you…

In His Mighty Grip,

The Greatest Story Is Still Being Written

The Nativity story never grows old: a young couple have an encounter of God and hold His promise deep in their hearts. On a “wing & a prayer” they move in haste and obedience to the still small voice. The plot thickens as sinister forces mobilize to crush the promise God has given them and with it their hopes and dreams and the hopes and dreams of all mankind. Against all odds the attack is foiled and in the least expected way God fulfills His promise and comforts His servants. A star, angels and a visit from royalty add flair and distinction to what would otherwise have been a completely ordinary event.

What is your life like today? Do you hold a promise in your heart? Are you pregnant with hope and expectation?

Whether the wind is at your back, or you are feeling the cross currents of doubt, fear and discouragement coming against the wind of God in your sails, be encouraged! “No weapon forged against you will prevail!” (Isa 54:17)

A New Year Poem

“We pause beside this door:

Thy year, O God, how shall we enter in?

The footsteps of a Child sound close beside us.

Listen, he will speak!

His birthday bells have hardly rung a week,

Yet has he trod the world’s press undefiled.

“Enter through me,” he saith, “nor wander more;

For lo! I am the Door.”
